A product from a military family, Ken moved throughout the world until his father was posted to Oromocto for the second and final time in 1964. He graduated from Oromocto High School in 1970 after completing his final six years of schooling in Oromocto. Upon graduation from high school, Ken completed one year at le College Militaire Royal de St. Jean, Quebec, and three more years at St. Thomas University in Fredericton where he obtained his undergraduate degree in 1974 in Honours History. Following the undergraduate degree, three more years of university followed at the University of New Brunswick where he obtained his Bachelor of Law degree in 1977. In the years following graduation from Law School in 1977, Ken has conducted a general practice of law in the Oromocto-Fredericton area where he has provided a full range of legal services to his clients. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the New Brunswick Law Society and the York-Sunbury Law Society. Other activities include his positions of former President of the Oromocto Public Hospital Foundation, an elected school board trustee, a member of the Oromocto and Area Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Gage Golf & Curling Club. Ken acted as a counsellor to the "Junior Achievers" program where he instructed the class on various business-related topics. He has been actively involved as a minor hockey coach in the Oromocto Minor Hockey Association for seventeen years both at the house and competitive levels, and he is a former member of the Oromocto Oldtimers Hockey Club. Ken and his wife, Catherine (Gilbert), reside in Burton with their family.
